With A Quiet Place: Day Onefans will get an entire brand-new viewpoint on the fear of the franchise’ alien intrusion.
Stars Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn consulted with ET’s Kevin Frazier at the 2024 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards on Thursday, held at Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace, and the Oscar-winning starlet reviewed how her upcoming prequel alters the video game and ups the ante.
According to Nyong’o, franchise developer and manufacturer John Krasinski — who directed A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part II (2020)– had an interest in informing a various kind of frightening story with the 3rd installation.
“What he passed on to me is that he had an interest in doing something brand-new with the franchise he developed, and deep space he developed,” Nyong’o shared, “however likewise with the category of scary movie, [and] discovering brand-new methods to enter that category and to broaden it.”
“And I believe that this movie does that,” she included. “It’s a brand-new tone.”
While filmmaker Michael Sarnoski was charged with composing and directing A Quiet Place: Day One — as Krasinski chose to carry on to helm other tasks– Nyong’o stated the nature of the movie’s places and settings will set it apart from the previous installations– which were really intimate, individual and rural.
