Getting the axe on American Idol isn’t constantly the worst thing, it ends up. Josh Gad seems to be among the lots of Idol fans who didn’t concur with some of the judges’ recent removals.

On Sunday– as Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan trimmed the field of candidates in the very first of 2 nights of the Showstoppers round– a young artist named Murphy got cut from the competition.

Lots of fans took to Twitter to state it wasn’t fair, and argued that Murphy ought to already have a career.

Central Park, naturally, is Gad’s animated sitcom on Apple TV+, which he co-created with Bob’s Hamburgers developer Loren Bouchard and executive producer Nora Smith.

For his part, Murphy seemed thrilled at the chance and rapidly replied, “I ‘d be honored.:-RRB- Dming you now.”

Throughout his time on the show, Murphy became a fan favorite for his fun-loving personality and distinct efficiencies.

On Sunday, he came out and provided an original tune entitled “Am I Still Mine?” The performance came after he revealed that he’s got a degenerative eye condition that will more-than likely leave him blind by the time he remains in his 30 s.

In spite of the heartfelt initial tune and his indisputable talent ( and the fact that it was his birthday), the aspiring musician still wound up getting the axe. This resulted in a flood of tweets protecting his right to be in the competition and fans knocking the judges for their choice.

Murphy, meanwhile, took the problem in stride and shared a message of positivity and optimism after getting kicked off.

” Thank you for everybody that revealed faith in me. Though my journey is over on #AmericanIdol, I’ll still be singing,” he composed on Instagram alongside a picturesque shot of the sun setting on the horizon. “Tomorrow is a new day and the horizon looks extremely welcoming. #Murphyonidol See you soon.:-RRB-“

American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
