Chris Pratt is grieving his good friend and long time stuntman, Tony McFarr, who just recently passed away all of a sudden at the age of 47.

Consulting with ET’s Kevin Frazier from the best of The Garfield Movie — which launches in theaters on May 19, the 44-year-old star opened about his stunt double’s death and highlighted why it is so crucial that stunt entertainers are lastly getting their due credit after years of effort.

“Man, Tony was as hard as they come,” Pratt shared of his double from Jurassic World. “It’s funny that it came that– that news and his awful death occurred the very same time that [the movie] The Fall Guy came out.”

The Ryan Gosling-led movie stars the La Land star as a stuntman entrusted with conserving the day after the star he serves as a body double for– played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson — goes missing out on. Gosling and the movie’s team members have explained the film as a “love letter to stunt employees.”

“I believe the stuntmen are having a genuine minute today being honored and he should have to be honored for his contribution and all stuntmen provide for what they do,” Pratt informed ET. “They’re the most difficult men, they’re the coolest guys on set without a doubt.”

Over the weekend, Pratt shared a homage to McFarr on his Instagram. “We did numerous films together. We golfed, consumed bourbon, smoked stogies, and invested unlimited hours on set,” Pratt composed in an Instagram Story. “I’ll always remember his durability.”

“He was constantly a gentleman and expert,” Pratt continued. “He’ll be missed out on. My prayers head out to his loved ones, specifically his child.”

McFarr passed away on Monday in his home in Florida. His death was verified by his mom, Donna, who initially shared the news with TMZstating her kid was “active and healthy” and the death was “unanticipated.” His cause of death has actually not been launched yet.

In a declaration to ET, the Orange County Medical Examiner’s workplace validated that they have the case. “An examination has actually currently happened and cause/manner of death is pending toxicology outcomes,” the workplace stated.

McFarr and Pratt initially collaborated on Jurassic World in 2015. The stuntman went on to double for Pratt in Guests Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdomand, most just recently, Guardians of the Galaxy 2. In a post shared from the set of GOTG 2 back in 2016, Pratt presented his fans to his stunt double and buddy.

“Here’s me and my stunt-man Tony McFarr (likewise Tommy Harper stunt organizer and our very first advertisement Lars Winther) on set,” the dad of 3 captioned the post. “Been dealing with Tony considering that Jurassic World. Love you pal! Delighted wrap!”
